Ayam Goreng dengan Bawang

(Fried Chicken with Onion) Serves 6 - 8


  • 1 chicken
  • 2 tsps turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large onion - ringed thickly
  • 2 red chillies - sliced
  • Oil for deep-frying


  1. Clean the chicken and cut into 8 pieces. Wash and dry well.
  2. Mix the chicken with salt and turmeric powder.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the chicken pieces until crisp.
  4. Using 2tbsps of the same oil, in a separate pan fry the onion rings and chilli slices until limp. Turn off the heat and mix with the chicken pieces.
